Now you could go out and hire one of these machines and attempt the task yourself, but i would nor advise in doing so if you have no prior training, as they are big, heavy, dangerous and difficult machines to operate and control. In our view they should not be available for hire by the general public.

We need a minimum of 1 metre for our machine to pass through.
What is the tree species? Don't worry if not known
What is the diameter at the top of the stump from one side to another?
What is the surface like around the stump? is there any concrete, slabs or brickwork nearby?

You could always forward us images of the stump area and maybe place an object like a can ok coke or something similar so we can get a size indication. But please note that if we give you a quote over the phone that we still need to actually view the job before the quotation is final. This can work well 9 out of 10 times but sometimes a customer does not see a potential problem like an experienced tree surgeon would. If you have large exposed roots that are laying above the ground and require them to be removed also, we can work out an overall price taking these into account.
